Be a creep and you can find true romance also!

I wanted to like this film. I found it fascinating at first, but by the end I just hated the main character. First off, I hate films that portray supposed nonconformist vagrants as protagonists in an attempt to say something about boring, middle class "real people." Let's be frank, most homeless people don't have college degrees or can manage to consistently look as attractive as he somehow manages to, nor do they meditate and know how to creep around so discreetly. Most homeless people don't break into people's houses to feel at home or accepted and not steal anything, mainly because they don't have the fortune to star in pretentious, stereotypical Sundance films. A lot of them don't manage to find true love either, especially with extremely attractive models who are for some reason always married to one-dimensional abusive husbands. It's a shame that so much hard work and talent went into producing a film this shallow and simple-minded.

Also, I was watching "Old School" one day, and then I realized that there's no way a bunch of middle aged men could start a frat. I'm sick of these shallow films too.

He is not real people. Houdini himself couldn't have escaped out of that cell - nor could he have no weight with another woman on top of a scale. The hero is obviously not a "homeless" guy. He rides a brand new BMW motorbike! Imagine that the main character is an angel as one of the other posts suggest. Considering there was no real word-ly "preaching", you're almost COMPLETELY free to judge as you see fit. Go with the flow and you'll find one stunning film. Cynicism may be right from a social point of view, but it sure as heck is more depressing. (So ignore it! :p)

You sound like a pretentious a hole. It's a movie, you have to have a bit of imagination to understand it. It's like saying "The Lion King is stupid cause animals don't talk in real life." If most movies were like you say they should be then the we would have some boring ass movies. Stop trying to sound like an intellectual cause clearly you are not.

Laugh and the world laughs with you, weep and you weep alone.

I'll definitely have to side with dhurley. You try to sound analytical and thoughtful, but you claimed that this was a film that portrays a "supposed nonconformist vagrant."
Essentially, my point is that you clearly missed the point of the movie. And by clearly missed, I mean like Dick Cheney out hunting. You try to base these claims that the movie is horrible and stereotypical on the plot alone, when the plot alone can be summed up in a post shorter than yours. Hell, the plot of the movie can partly be summed up by one screenshot 1 hour, 21 minutes and 21 seconds into the movie (the time signature is irrelevant, actually, as most who read this post will have in mind this iconic screenshot). Essentially, this screenshot--with a subtitle of "the guy on the left is a hobo, the guy on the right is abusive" is all you seem to have absorbed from this movie.
