Stupid, Pretentious, and meaningless

This film is bad on my levels. The homeless guy doesn't say one word thoughout the entire film. Then he tires to be invisible hiding behind people. He plays the same damn song over and over. The woman doesn't say a word until the last few moments of the film. The character development is non existent, This film annoyed me on so many levels. Overrated crap.

reply

None of the things you complain about are objectively bad, unlike your ability to make a well reasoned argument.

reply

The things that i mentioned (not complaining) are critical points in the film. My opinion (not argument) is that the film and the characters have no development you imbecile. You must be obtuse or blind not to see what im referring to. If you a fan of the director or the actors then im sorry but the film sucked and it is again overrated crap.

reply

You still haven't said anything that can be pointed to as objectively bad. Simply saying characters aren't developed doesn't mean they are. Opinions aren't something worth discussing. It is far more interesting to make statements based on actual film elements. Perhaps only those who are obtuse and blind can fail to see the levels of progression undergone in the film?

reply

There is nothing more pretentious and meaningless than calling a given piece of art "pretentious and meaningless". As for "stupid", I think the problem in your case was between the chair and the screen.

reply

It wasn't stupid. Not meaningless. Don't think it was pretentious either.

The woman speaks regularly before she meets the guy (forgot his name). Remember she had a husband and a son. Her little boy points a BB gun at her and she tells him to go ahead and shoot and put her out of her misery, or something like that. Neither her nor her husband thought the gun was loaded.

She talked before this too.

You sure you saw the movie from the beginning?

Wrong woman. The main character's first and only words are "I love you"

Sometimes, people who don't understand something dismiss it.
But sometimes, people who DO understand do this.
Sometimes they claim it's wonderful, significant, and beautiful.

I wonder what you would do if you realized everything you think is wrong?

I only ask because it's a question I try to start my day with.

Your levels are crap

reply

You can be mad if you want but the movie is still horrible.

reply

I thought it was excellent.

I think you could find a fair amount of meaning in it if you were inclined that way. The film talks about what motivates people, how should people live, and so on. It questions materialism. I thought one of the few missteps was when the detective notes that the main character has a college degree. That made it almost too blunt in my opinion.

Personally, I tend not to read meaning into films. In my opinion, films are enjoyable for reasons other than their "message" and I'm always confused when someone criticizes a film for its message or lack of a message.

reply

You are an idiot.

Just because you don't understand something, doesn't mean it's *beep* Logically, your post is meaningless because you discuss how you feel about the movie and your opinion, which don't make an argument valid.
