Doesn't sound like a popcorn movie at all. Yet, I don't think it's one for loose weight sweets, either, I think I need something more sophisticated. Breadsticks?

That's a tough one indeed. The obvious choice would be some rice or sushi, but I reckon some ham sandwiches would do fine. Remember though, if you're watching it with a chick, cut the sandwiches into quarters and put some crips (aka potato chips) onto the side of the plate. So that she knows you're a sophisticated type.

shareI had dried mango slices, chocolate covered pretzels, and light butter popcorn (in that order). It worked out pretty well.
My philosophy is that foreign language films are best with crunchy snacks because you don't need clarity of voices with subtitles.
Myself it was chocolate covered pretzles and coke. But I would have to second the soup. Something with a clear broth that reveals the contents of the dish yet you're still appriciative of how they come together. You think there may be more to it at the bottom of the bowl, but when you get there it really is all that you saw and nothing more. It is not a complex dish, but a comforting one, and those who see ghosts in it's depths are clearly sipping from another cup entirely. A ministrone, but made with edemame for a regional flare.
