When I first heard of this movie, I had no interest in seeing it. It just did not sound appealing although I do like Tyler Perry and his work.
I caught this on cable one day and absolutely loved it. It was very good. Worth watching.........what a rare treat.
Could you give me reasoning to why you felt it was misleading. What exactly were you expecting just from title alone?
My perspective is that it fit the bill ... the story of the title was about pages being written in this woman's diary. About her relationships, family, etc. I personally liked the play (which if you have not seen yet you should) better ... Tyler was able to be more bold w/ the storyline in his plays versus what he could do on TV/Movies.

Not misleading title, misleading trailer. The trailer presented the movie as a slapstick comedy about a CRAZY old black woman (Madea) and her antics. In reality, it's about an ANGRY black woman (Helen) and her relationships with the other characters.
shareIt was a great movie. Very funny. Tyler Perry is a very talented person. If anyone has read his bio, you will find his story very encouraging. He came from nothing and now look at him.
sharePlus, it's a pun on an old movie, Diary Of A Mad Housewife. Although in that movie, it signified madness, not anger. I think the subtlety is that you think it's Medea (crazy), when it's really Helen (rage). Good twist.
