I totally disagree. Modern was a big movement at that time and I thought she looked very much like a Balanchine style dancer. Maria Tallchief a prima ballerina during that time was 5'9" and married to Ballanchine. I thought Cate was very convincing and not just when she was on stage by they way she carried herself. I studied dance for many years and dancers often have a signature carriage. She nailed it.
shareAgreed, cuechick - I thought she was marvelous. There was a huge change in American dance in the 40s and 50s that affected the world. I thought she did an amazing job as did everyone involved with the film.
