I feel like this script had a few too many rewrites
I've always liked this movie, but it doesn't pay to think too much about the plot. An assassin follows a hotel manager around for two months so he can hold her hostage on a plane while threatening to call another assassin who'll kill her father unless she calls her hotel because she's the only person on Earth who can make a last-minute change to the booking of a government official and make it slightly easier for a bunch of terrorists on a fishing boat to shoot a missile into his room? What?
I get the impression this started out with a fairly simple premise (nice girl gets stuck sitting next to a psycho on a plane) and then went through a lot of revision and rewrites, with more and more plot elements being clumsily glued on or hammered in, until it turned into the fun little illogical mess it became.
