Good film, until...

they leave the plane.

At which point it becomes a silly exaggerated mess.

I think the chase scene was thrilling. For me, everything was fine up until Lisa arrived at their house.

The finale inside the house was fun, but a little generic.

This was almost a classic.

This is a common thing among movies I generally like. They start out well, then towards the third act really start to unravel. I can name dozens of movies that do this.

I feel like you kind of needed the house chase scene, because the tension was building up so much in the plane and for nothing to happen after that would of made the film unwatchable. You feel like you earned the payoff once it comes.

Yes, to me this was always a tense and rather interesting movie that fell apart after they left the plane (or at least the airport).

Now the last 20 or so minutes weren't bad for an action-thriller, but for this particular movie that build suspense expertly, it was a letdown indeed. (They were kinda fun, though.)

Hey there, Johnny Boy, I hope you fry!

I thought you were going to say until she stabbed him in the neck with a large bore pen and he didn't bleed.

reply

And *I* thought you were going to say until she made a swiping motion with the pen as though slicing his neck with a knife but he ended up with it sticking out of his neck at a 90 degree angle. And he didn't bleed. And then everybody started tripping each other.

It seems that Craven changed (like in exaggerated) the whole home scene. Woman power. But it came out ridiculous.

Big fan of the movie, but not of the last part.

I had the exact opposite reaction. I was bored and annoyed on the plane, if the lead guy did not have some charisma I would have been really upset. Once they got off the plane at least something actually happened!

Yes!!

Totally agree. I was going to yap on in a rant about this.

Well, I'm still gonna rant on....

At first I was really enjoying this film. I have to admit Cillian Murphy is a great actor. He just seems to have 'it' in every film I've seen him feature.

When Rachel Mcadams flees the plane and kills the hitman, that could have been the finale. It was tense enough to see if she could reach her father in time and they could've drawn out the suspense by showing the hitman preparing to kill the dad in more detail.

We did not need the stupid house chase scene. Totally ruined the film in my eyes. I didn't even wait for the ending. Once Rachel opened up the shower curtains in a lame attempt for a jump scare fake I had enough.

Otherwise, this film would be amazing. I think a good ending could've been Rachel saves her father in time and finds out the Keefes are safe. Right at the very end she could've seen Cillian Murphy glaring at her from a distance and then he disappears. His demise is already sealed since she stuck a pen in him and he'll probably lose his job through losing his voice.
