No, I definitely did not sympathize with the bad guy, because he had no redeeming qualities whatsoever and was trying to kill a man and his family (including his two young children), and threatened to kill the main character and her father multiple times. Not to mention he was basically a terrorist. And the main character was quite likeable. Just because she was cold and stubborn doesn't mean she was unlikeable, it just means she was strong and not afraid to fight back. Plus she was literally raped which changes a person a LOT, in case you didn't know. I was surprised she acted as well as she did under the circumstances after something like that had happened. Even if it was years ago that it had happened, it would no doubt still haunt her (which she reveals that it did). So I thought she was a very likeable character because she was strong, brave and defiant (when she needed to be). Also the little girl knew something was up with that guy, and she saw him threaten the girl earlier in the movie, and then saw him start chasing her at the end, so she saved the lady by tripping him. Because no normal person would chase after their assailant with a pen stuck in their throat.
Really? I can't think of one thing Lisa did that would make me not like her. The MOST she did was complain about her dad worrying about her. She stood up for herself and fought back against someone trying to kill innocent people, AND recovered from being raped, which is hard to do for a lot of people. She outsmarted a terrorist, and kicked his ass. I think that's pretty likeable to me.
Finding certain traits about her character, even something as trivial as her voice, can be annoying to some viewers. Is that enough to make her character completely unlikeable? Folks be petty.
But I agree, she was a great heroine that was easy to sympathize with. Pretty tough gal.
How was Lisa a bitch? She didn’t do anything wrong and you hate her for this alleged trait, but the guy who tried to have 2 kids blown up, is the one you like?
