JJ related questions during re-watch

I'm doing a re-watch for the 2nd time and I'm realizing there's a lot that is confusing me about the character of JJ. First of all;

What is up with his lack of fingernails? (They made certain to mention it as though it was going to be some plot point and then they just dropped it)

What is up with his relationship to Wanda? (Is she really Caralynn's mom?, Has he impregnated her?, Is it her egg and his sperm that he is having in vitroed into Adaleen? and others?)

If anyone has any idea, please let me know. It's bothering me that I haven't been able to find much about this.

If memory serves me correctly, his lack of *********** was a defect due to generations of inbreeding in his family, and his relationship to Wanda was that he was her older brother.

As to all of the invitro stuff, and who is who's mother and father, well that's anybody's guess.
