Lines they say all the time...

I'm watching this series for the second time, and this time around I keep hearing some of the same phrases over and over.

It seems like Bill is always saying, "That's not how we do things!"

Any others?
.

reply

Margene: "I'm not doing it. No way."

Whether it's "i'm not having the next baby. no way" or whatever it is.

Lois: "AND I MEAN IT."

Bill says that too.

reply

"It's the Principle!"

"It's my night."

"But he's the Prophet."

I was watching the Season 3 finale last night, and Margene took Barb out to Juniper Creek to reason with Nicki.

Barb was saying they had to give Bill time to work through getting Nicki an apartment or whatever, and Margene said, "This isn't how we do things!" (She might have even added, "No way.") (Not sure.)

reply

Hahaha, this thread is hilarious.

"I have bigger fish to fry."

reply

"in the name of jesus christ, amen."

---
"well, stranger. we're feeding them strangers."

reply

Nickie said variations of " he's my father Bill" a lot in the first couple sessions.

reply

NICKI: (exasperated) Alby!

also

NICKI: (searchingly) Papa?
.

reply

By many people: "hanging by a thread"

Someone tasted my tongue and told me I tasted like the color crimson with a faint of violet.

reply

Bill says a lot of "Marriage is about..."

reply

Nicky says several times "You're so selfish".

The one that stuck with me is "I don't want to be cast in outer darkness". Barb says that 2 or 3 times. She doesn't want her old mormon church to kick her out. I guess what every mormon wants is to be inside or at the center with the light. They seem to have a solar system like notion of heaven. Or, it is is just an expression.

"What the H!" is used a lot.

It's not an expression, it is a part of LDS doctrine. Actually, a solar system is a pretty good analogy. I always made a comparison to a watered-down Dante's Inferno, but a solar system is about right.

I would think being "cast into eternal darkness" could mean your spirit's floating around in outer space, without that Mormon "reward" family planet of your own.

I'm thinking I'd also hear from various people

"Would you listen to yourself, Barb?"

and

BILL: You have to trust me.

reply

"Do as I say!"
