I think Nikki was upset because of the ceramony that had just happened for Bill 11 months later

we can't really see if Nikki is living with Barb or not, but if she was maybe they had to sell the house or something.

Bill had to be killed or sent to Jail it was a better ending for him to be killed.

I think the whole neibour Carl shooting him thing was way to rushed it made no sense at all who knows if he even was caught. it would have been better if Bill was a hero shooting Alby but was shot by Alby and killed at the same time or something like that. That would have made more sense

I actually thought since the beginning we would all see them reunite in the celestial kingdom at the end of the series.

wow. Really? The show never gave those outrageous claims any substance beyond them believing it. If they all ended up sitting on a cloud playing harps and singing together, HBO would have closed shop

I expected Bill to not die after getting shot, have an out of body experience and claim to be the new true Prophet. Maybe stay in a coma for a few days and then come to and claim that God spoke to him and told him he is the new Prophet. I think I would have preferred that over those rushed last few minutes.

It does make me wonder how it all works when the husband dies. I suppose if it were the compound, the wives would just be assigned to a new husband.

What I took away from that last five minutes was that:

I think they kept their three houses, but as always, gathered for events.

We know Barb was accepted as the leader of the "new" church, since Bill's acknowledging her priesthood holder status at this death.

I think one of them must work--perhaps Barb at the casino.

Marge evidently went on her first 3-month mission in the previous year, came home for a while, and is now leaving for another one. Maybe 3 months gone, 3 months home, leaving her children with Nicki & Barb (since after all, they're the kids' mothers, too!)

I *think* Teeny still lived with Sarah, but I'm not sure. Maybe she moved home when all the dust settled.

They've essentially stayed married to each other just as before, believing that they are still "sealed" to Bill himself, and they'll go to meet him one by one.

As I understand it, a sealed woman could do one of three things.

1) She could stay a widow for the rest of her life (assuming she's not under the thumb of a prophet who reassigns her).
2) She could get "unsealed" from her dead husband and "resealed" to another one (I suppose that requires special permission).
3) I *think* she could marry again "for time only" and stay sealed to the first husband and only live with the second guy until she died, just for protection/provision, etc... as long as all parties were agreeable.

I just finished it the series and it seems I am not alone in my feelings on the finale.

Seriously, shot over resodding a lawn? What kind of stupid.... I don't get it.

The story line with the DA threatening to take action against Bill never was resolved. It was left open ended. So lame.

I also thought it was confusing at the end...eleven months later? What service did they just have? For Bill? From his death 11 months earlier? It wasn't just rushed, it was poorly executed as well.

I would have appreciated more answers as to what happened to the houses. Do the women still have all three houses? What about the neighbors? I am sure Carl is in prison, but we don't get to see anything wrapped up for his wife? She was a character for a long time in the show, she deserved better than that.

No final judgment for Alby or Adaleen?

What happened to Lura? Last we saw her was in the shelter after Bill punched Alby.

And, in all seriousness, what happened to Wanda and Joey?

That's just off the top of my head. I am sure I could think of more later on.

This was perhaps one of the most awful series finales of all time.

I would have liked to have seen the series wrap up a bit better. Seems like there were a lot of loose ends and it felt rushed, especially the finale.

I agree. Five minutes to show that, oh yeah, they moved on and lived happily ever after. And why does someone have to die in the end anyway? It seems kind of cliche. In this case it was also a bit of a cop-out in regards to the storyline of the criminal charges, Bill's political career and the bill to legalize polygamy.

I think Six Feet Under, for example, did it a lot better, if you have to do the death thing. The main character died in the penultimate episode, and in the final episode we were shown how the other characters moved on with their lives.

First of all to some of the posters here who are confused - it wasn't Bill's funeral 11 months later. It was a ceremony for Sarah and her husband's baby.

I agree that having the neighbor shoot Bill was kind of silly. We barely even knew anything about this guy beyond the fact he was Pam's husband and apparently out of work for a year or so. The neighbor is the one who complained to Bill about his lawn being trampled and Bill told him he would re-sod it. So why did he freak out and kill him? It would have been much better if it had been some disgruntled follower of Albie or one of the Greens had shot Bill.

I also agree that having a 5 minute look at their present lives was way too short. I too wondered what is going to happen to the women. Are they going to remain single for the rest of their lives? Are they going to stay forever together? I would think they would have had to sell two houses. They certainly couldn't afford to maintain three homes and support 6 children. I was also surprised that Margene had been gone three months and was going off for another six months considering that she has three children.

Having them meet in the celestial kingdom would have been kind of fun, but at the same time if that had happened it would have implied that the Mormon church was the true church. I don't think the writers wanted to do that.
