Thinking of watching series
Convince me why I should or shouldnt.
Im just coming off my complete 2nd viewing of Breaking Bad, loved SOA, and Parenthood.
Trying to revisit some old shows I heard were binge worthy.
?? Thanks

Big Love is a very interesting story because it examines a religious sect you hardly ever see on tv, with so much true-to-life flavor and so many well-depicted idiosyncrasies. The cast of characters' uniquely layered relationships (due to the many plural marriages and strange family structures on the show) provide ample opportunity for to interact in a multitude of ways, in matters both mundane and life-threatening. You see both the workings of the wives' lives around the house and the extremely tense business decisions of their frequently unlikeable husband. Do be warned though--the characters are frequently unlikeable.
If I had any criticisms of the show it's that it takes too long to get moving and then halfway through the series it moves WAY too fast, with developments coming at a breakneck pace that can feel pretty soapy in the season's worst season (the fourth one). However, the final season is brilliant and the whole series is worth checking out. If you make it a couple episodes into season two and you're disengaged, it's probably not for you. Though you can probably tell earlier than that.
I'm binge rewatching it right now. It's a fascinating series, very well done. It can be creepy and even upsetting at times, but still I really recommend it.
Makes you think.
The characters portrayed at the polygamist's compound are sinister and believable. Many great performances. Watch it!
Season 1 is fantastic and super addicting. It's frustrating when the episode ends because you immediately want to watch the next one...
