how did Hoyt survive

getting his head bashed into the floor like 20 times? he looks pretty dead when you see him up close and how come Dean didnt just finish him off?

i wanna discuss this thread so please send opinions.

Dean wouldnt of had the balls to finish him off, He would of lived his whole life as an emotional wheck knowing he killed someone. As much as Dean hated Hoyt, He would of felt sorry for him, When hes on the ground with his front teeth knocked out and blood everywhere.

Well since this is a PREQUEL, meaning something comes after it, and that something is the remake, and Hoyt is alive in the remake, YES. He survived.

Movie was fill of plotholes like hoyt surviving that attack,such head trauma would be certain death especially a man of hoyts age,another hole was how did uncle monty survive getting his legs cut off like that,that would lead to almost instant death by shock and if not shock then infection and blood loss or how was the police car hoyt took possesion of never looked for??

There is reference in the film about everyone abandoned texas, So im guessing all the cops etc quit, And "the hippies" started taking over :P.

they actually abondoned the town,not texas and that still doesn't account for the missing car and cop,some1 would come looking and it would'nt be hard to find considering hoyt drove it round.

Let's remember that this takes place in 1969 and the 2003 film takes place in 1973, plenty of time for Hoyt to get better over time. He got his face pounded into the ground, he even shows Tucker in the 2003 movie that that he was wearing false teeth, which he obviously needed after Dean slammed his head onto the floorboards.

Another theory. Dean heard Chrissie scream in the woods while being chased by Leatherface. So therefore, he spared Hoyt's life for a moment by trying to save Chrissie getting killed by LF. Dean knows that Hoyt killed his girlfriend. I don't think there was no way in hell he was going to let Hoyt survive. Hoyt is one tough mofo, but he got lucky in this one.

And the regarding Hoyt's car never being looked for. When Hoyt killed the real Sheriff Hoyt, he was the last bit of law enforcement left as he stated in the movie. Hoyt's remark after he shot him: "Sh^t I just killed the whole effing Sheriffs Department"

As far as how Uncle Monty survived the amputation of both his legs, I'll never know. That was quite painful and gruesome.

They just wanted to show why he had missing front teeth in the 2003 version. Same reason for the guy losing his legs.
