Sequel?

Is it possible for a sequel to The Texas chainsaw massacre remakes?
I LOVED them just as much i loved the old one. But now Texas Chainsaw 3d ruined it, why couldn't they just continue with the remakes? And texas chainsaw 3d was pure *beep* why? :(

New Line and Platinum Dunes no longer own the rights, and obviously had very little interest in making more anyway. Frankly there's only so long you can take a storyline, and the Thomas Hewitt continuity was going nowhere in my opinion.

Kim Henkel and Robert Kuhn want a new TCM franchise. I don't think the new film can promise that, but it was nice that they brought back the Sawyer continuity. Kind of.

well prequel was more or less the same movie as remake, and Leatheface lost his arm in remake... so the only option was to take him to space or make him cybernetic.

So, it's a good thing they didn't continue that series.

and yes, I agree, TCM 3D was terrible, one of the rare movies I stopped watching around 30 min mark, and trust me, I can watch some really bad movies. Dunno, maybe I'll give it another chance if I find it cheap on DVD, maybe I just wasn't in the right mood at that time to watch same movie for the third or fifth time in a row.

I'd have love to have seen a sequel. Unfortunately it just won't happen at this point. Best thing to hope for is, in another 10 or so years, they reboot it.
