Why would Leatherface wait in the backseat for Chrissie to drive away for a couple minutes before jumping up and shoving the chainsaw through the seat and through her? Why would he do it publicly rather than right away in the privacy of his own home?

Leatherface is NOT the type to do this, so I understand why some people have issues with it.
