I agree with this users comments. Regarding later comments, whether you might have been in a war or not is, to my mind, completely irrelevent when reviewing a film. I have to admit that I bought this DVD with high expectations but, after half an hour was still trying to work out what it was about. OK- it appears that the whole film was about the fact that the guys being feted in the States were not the ones who actually raised the flag- but is that worth a 2 hour movie- I think not. I really couldnt get into it and gave up after an hour or so. Letters from Iwo Jima was much more involving but still gave very little sense of the fierce battle that raged for days on end over Mount Kiribachi and the rest of the island. Both films were, to my mind, disappointing. If you want to see an excellent, believable, war film that you can really become involved in, check out the Korean films Welcome to Dongmakol or Brotherhood and you will see the difference. Still, everyone to his own, as they say, and if we all liked the same things, what a dull world it would be.
