Could be. It could also be a reference to the vampire lore that says vampires can't enter someone's home without permission. In commentary, Jackson and Doc made it clear that the investors were based on vampires.

Um, that's a vampire joke. Can't go where they're not invited is a centuries-old vampire trope.
