Phantom Limb is taking credit for the kill, but sources close to the Venture Compound say it was Dean Venture that was the true cause of his death.

Dr Venture:
What did we learn kids? Never leave your radioactive weapons of mass destruction lying around unattended.

I can't remember how/when (or if) he died. The Full Cast page does not list him, so I can't look up the episodes.

DB didn't actual do the voice of David Bowie/Soveign but I thought it was an inside joke & he was part of the cast but he isn't.

**"All this and Gargantua 2" spoilers below**

In "All this and Gargantua 2" he shape-shifted into an eagle to escape his lair, which he set to self-destruct, along with Dr. Girlfriend, who was tied up inside (but she escapes). When his lair blew up, it startled an OSI agent (Headshot) in a boat outside, and Headshot accidentally shot his gun into the air -- hitting an eagle, which then fell to the water, looking dead.

Was the eagle that got shot the same eagle that was actually the Sovereign? Probably; I personally think that was most likely the intentions of the writers.

Did the gunshot kill the Sovereign? Maybe, but maybe not.

Yes we are getting new eps, but they are already made at this point so unless the Adult Swim crew knew about his cancer, they probably won't address it.

I do hope that season 7 addresses this in some capacity. Hopefully in a genuinely touching tribute of some sort. The guys behind this show seem to be as big fans of Bowie as I am, so I won't be surprised if it happens.

He died at the end of Gargantua-2, Headshot shoots randomly up in the air and the eagle falls down dead.
