Is this film ableist?

The Spartans killed off their young if they were deformed or disabled, and in this film they're betrayed by Ephialtes who it is implied should have met the same fate.

It's ironic that Frank Miller and Zack Snyder, the pair behind this film, are Jewish because I suspect Hitler would have loved this film and its anti-Persian, ableist right-wing propaganda.

Spartans didn't kill disabled children. It's a myth.

But since the movie decided to follow that myth presenting it as a fact in the opening, I guess that kind of criticism is logical.

reply

I'm right-wing and in no way advocate the killing if disabled babies and also have never met a fellow right-winger that does.
Apparently our propaganda people suck at their job.

Just wanted to clear that up.

Thank you for your time.

If I'm not mistaken (I'm not), Obama was the only person to vote to leave failed aborted babies on a table to die. He's not right-wing.

You should check your stuff before posting such stupidity.

It's a movie, not a political statement.

reply

Another nutjob projecting your hallucinations into the movie talking about a detail that has no relevance to the movie as a whole..it's not political or 100% historically accurate nor was it meant to be. How can people see this and start finding ties to Hitler and Obama and religion like seriously learn how to recognize the context, god damn.
