Help me
I felt dumber after watching this movie. The campy dialogue and cheesy plotline really killed some brain cells. Is there a doctor who specializes in this kind of disease, "Dumb Movieitis?" ??

shareo shut the *beep* up no one cares for ur stupid ass insite
shareWell that was insightful. I've done a complete one-eighty after reading that response.
Honestly, the movie was done very well visually speaking, but that's about it.
Did you go into it thinking you'd be inlightened somehow? That you'd learn something about Dogma?
I went into it knowing that I'd lose a few brain cells, and I wasn't disapointed.
Do you honestly think I'd go in expecting enlightenment? Get serious here.
I expected to be somewhat entertained and have at least a few chuckles, but it never happened. The movie was plain awful.
Oh come on.
What about the scene where Evan. . .no wait.
How about when his wife. . .hang on.
Okay, okay, how about when God. . .dang it.
You've sold me.
Well the studio's happy with it because:
1 - its a sequel to a film that made money
2 - it also made money
3 - it leaves room for a sequel (more money)
4 - it's old testament so appeals to Jews and gentiles alike (more money)
5 - its relatively inoffensive (unless you take it and yourselves too seriously). which would harm its profitability (less money boo hoo).
At least its got people discussing religion and reading the old testament I suppose!
Surprisingly (or not), Evan AM bombed at box office.
It cost about $200 million to make.
It brought in $172,961,951 to this date.
That's about $27,038,049 that the studio lost in funds.
To address point 5, the people in Malaysia (including the Islam people) found this offensive.
Proof that religion doesn't always sell.

Why did the people in Malaysia find it offensive?
shareMalaysia's primary religion is Islam, and they found that making "the great flood" comedy and showing "God" characterized as a human was insulting their religion.
It still came out there, but on how much it made there, I have no clue.

Thank you for the response.
shareIf they found it offensive then they can kiss my ass
I went back in to edit this comment but decided to leave the first sentence as it was...
I quite like films that spread some kind of message even if it is within a lightweight comedy.
I know muslims don't like to see images of Mohammed and they're entitled to their beliefs, but hey leave our religion(s) alone eh!
