im surprised no jim carrey

i figured they would have given him a cameo, not as the main role mind you but i figured just for laughs they would have given a scene with him in it. like have a group of people together talking about evan and mocking him for saying god told him to do it, and have jim walk by turn and in a shouting voice be like IT CAN HAPPEN!! then like walk away.

He was offered to come back for the sequel but he turned down the reprisal role, and Jennifer Aniston did the same. Steve was asked on board only because he was in the 1st film and his starpower was on the rise.

Apparently Jim doesn't like playing the same character twice. Excluding Ace Ventura.

correct. Excluding Ace Jim has stated many times that he does not enjoy doing sequels or reprising the same character in general

from what i can gather it appears it was ace ventura that soured him against sequals

reply

He only did Ace 2 because it was part of his contract.
I wish he did Ace 3 instead of what it turned out to be.

reply

really Steve was in Bruce Almighty??

seems like Lauren Graham has been in alot of "Christian" movies...

reply

He didn't even want to make Ace Venture II. It was a contractual obligation, and was successful enough that he was able to have a stipulation in future contracts avoiding sequels.
