Hypocrites

Millions of people freely admit that they talk to God every day, yet when one of them claims that God talked back those very same people declare him insane. Do religious people really not see the hypocrisy in that? These same people calmly accept that God spoke to people in biblical times. Were those prophets crazy?

I'm not trying to start an argument (if only for the fact that religious people are typically extremely stubborn, and arguing with stubborn mules is a complete waste of time and energy), I just really want to know if you see how ludicrous that behaviour is.

Wrong.

Try again and actually read this time.

I read it again, as you suggested.

You're looking for an argument by prefacing the derogatory remarks with a statement that you're not looking for an argument. Basic trolling.

If you were simply looking for information or were trying to educate people by conveying information on a certain subject, why did you name your thread "hypocrites" and call your targets "stubborn mules"?

I agree with you that "arguing with stubborn mules is a complete waste of time and energy", but you're still trolling, no matter how violently you claim to be above such pettiness. Your comment really doesn't address the subject matter of the movie and only serves to insult people while you sit behind your keyboard and hope to witness a bloodbath.

I completely disagree w/ the assertation that the OP is trolling? Does that make me a troll?

You can't go on blaming yourself forever. Just blame yourself once, then move on.

You are right fingerst, that's the main point of the movie. Namely the difference between religion and spirituality. Faith is a very personal thing, different from agreeing with the general consensus. I suggest you watch the movie "Oh God", which delves more into that issue. It's a wonderful little gem.

Thank you, palitodecanela. I haven't seen Oh God but I'll check it out if it's available to view online.
