Wanda Sykes role in this movie

Did anybody else get tired of wanda sykes'lines in this movie? it seemed to me like they just chucked her in there for a bit of stereotypical sassy black one liners. i've got nothing against her, i just think they could have been more creative or something rather than just the same old shtick.

i concur, it got old fast.

Absolutely unnecessary character and an awfully demeaning and emberrassing role for her.

Usually, I find Wanda Sykes very funny...loved her in MONSTER-IN-LAW and I also love her on THE NEW ADVENTURES OF OLD CHRISTINE, but she was just tiresome here...all her dialogue just had a "been there done that" sensibility to it.

Horrid role. It made the moving ANNOYING and every time she came on screen I knew she was just there to say something stupid that was supposed to be sassy and funny. Unfortunately it had the OPPOSITE affect of sassy and funny. And I agree, it got really old really fast.

Just saw the movie and the worst thing about it was Wanda Sykes, i actually came here to make a thread about it. God everything she said just screamed cliche black woman. I rolled my eyes everytime the idiot spoke.Wasnt the slightest bit funny.

I did too. Ok, not the best, and some of her lines were pretty stupid, but I still liked her. Course I only caught the last half of the movie.

Glad im not the only one who feels this way. It's like the director told her to say a one liner every time the camera was on her.

Wanda Sykes herself gets old fast. One-note, same unfunny schtick, everywhere she goes.
