I thought Evan purchased the lots that the boat/arc was built on. How is it even legally possible to destroy the arc? Sorry watching bits here and there while doing laundry in case they explained it during the movie.
shareWell all they said was that it was violating numerous local laws/ordinances. The movie never answered what specific laws were being broken, but all we can assume is that the offense was egregious enough to merit demolition. Also Evan had been forewarned long in advance.
