Why didn't he just shave and put on a suit in front of his wife??

that way she'd see for herself what was happening and that he really was called on by god and he's not crazy?

This movie would have been 40% better had this been addressed. There is NO good reason why he shouldn't have done that.

Now, if Evan had actively tried to keep his curse a secret and tried to push his wife away as not to involve her in this madness, it would've made sense. But that's not what happens in the movie.

Been awhile, but didn't the movie imply that the more he tried to force himself to appear normal, the more spontaneously abnormal the stuff that happened would be. Like when he's in congress, and all the birds fly out of his jacket.

I got that impression as well, he tried to hide his beard and long hair and the worse it got.

Its that man again!!
