God v Congress
I admit to not watching the whole movie through, I did feel it was too sappily sentimental about, frankly, too Christianity-centered. Then the flood happens and more or less smashes up Congress, apparently because God is displeased with the result of the democratic process (however corruptly it was portrayed).
At the moment the flood waters crashed into the Capitol, I imagined Morgan Freeman shouting "Separate this!"
In those terms, the thrust of the movie appeared to be contrary to the fundamental principles of the Constitution. Democracy fails and God steps in. I just wondered what people thought about that aspect.
