Dora-A Doll's House

Anyone else think that Dora's story was exactly the same as A Doll's House(intentionally obviously) the way the husband calls her his sweet little dora and gives her the pink cards and stuff. Movies quoting plays, I like that.

I haven't read, "A Doll's House" since high school over thirty years ago however, from what I recall, your observation rings true. I found the sequence with Dora very sad and I sensed she was on the receiving end of some kind of emotional abuse from her husband. She appeared frightened when Ron came home to find Don. When Ron touched her hair. there seemed something controlling and almost menacing in the gesture-she seemed to barely tolerate his touch. Also interesting was how she claimed she didn't think she'd be a good mother to, "Ron's children"-what an odd way to put it. The atmosphere in that home was so stifled, controlling and uncomfortable, I was relieved when the scene was over.
