this movie try to hard to be Sam Mendes American Beauty, but fails.

ps: and who in the hell could survive from a hit by a car the way the movie does.

It had similar characteristics, but I don't think this movie tries too hard to be anything.
I say it's quite nearly on par with AB.

By the way, American Beauty is my favorite movie, followed by Magnolia, followed by Chumscrubbers, followed by Donnie Darko.

Chumscrubber is your third favorite movie of all time? Wow, it was good but I dont know about that.

But I'd have it higher than that disappointing, overrated Magnolia.

But Donnie Darko is the s*hit.

I was reminded of American Beauty while watching this too. I did not expect much going into this movie, but was surprised at how good it was. I am not going to put it in my top 10, but I also will not dispute it being in someone elses top 10.

Hell, I can get you a toe by 3 o'clock this afternoon... with nail polish.

I agree, there was a lot of forced symbolism and it wasn't as well written or acted. Zooming out to show the town was the shape of a dolphin in the end had me scoffing. Pretty lame.
