Did anyone else think Crystal was a crossdresser
in the beginning because of the scarf she wore?

I think it was to show "rich, elegance" basically. A lot of richer, woman wore/still wear scarves like that. Then again, they are older.

I think rich old ladies preferred to throw some mink, fox, or scarves around their wrinkly rooster necks to hide the fact.
Yeah, I also thought Crystal did come across as a mascara boy rather than a girl. I don't think she fit the part and seemed really out of place. In fact, I thought she rather ruined the movie for me.
