Why wasn't Seann Penn nominated for this film?

I thought he gave a heck of a performance. Very strong presence.

Anyone agree?

I thought it was one of his weaker performances. Leaned too heavily on the physicality of Stark/Long and, imho, ended up looking more like Joe Cocker than Huey Long.

reply

no i dont agree, he wasnt nominated because his performance was the worst overacting performance in years.

Because of his haircut.

I suppose he did an OK job acting through his rubber face. Did anyone else have problems with that shiny immobile latex look to his face? It was so distracting, I had to look away.

Nominated for what? Oscar? Maybe...because the movie was NOT well received...?
