totally lost me at the end - please explain

Even though I had the subtitles on, I didn't understand what was happening at the end:
-Why was Stark being impeached
-How was he corrupt? Trying to find something against Irwin? Don't all politicians do that (try finding something on their opponents)
-He took bribes? Haven't notice
-Movie description says that he turned from a good guy to as bad as the guys he was fighting. He became more annoying and ego centered, and probably alcoholic, but as I said he was not as bad as the other guys
-Kate Winslet, I learned from this board, that she slept with him. Not obvious from the film. Why did she sleep with him? Did he pay her?
-Adam - totally lost me here, how did he get framed that if the hospital fails (which it would) it would be his fault?
Thanks for shedding any light into these

He was being impeached for the same reason Cllinton was, the powers that be
cooked up fake charges against him,

Read the life story of Huey Long.

He was corrupt as he said because if you look hard you can find that anyone
that gets anything done in this world has to break some rules.

Funny that people who do things for themselves and make a lot of money
kill themselves or screw themselves up on drugs, they are in a hundred
papers a day, but when someone does something for other people and
has a weakness for women, seems to be pretty common among men, they
make a big deal about it. people are people, they like sex and some like
drugs.

Adam was being fed lies by the spurned lover of Willie, and Tony
Soprano.

it is up in the air what happened with Kate Winslet, but he might have
slept with Willie out of any number of reasons, gratitiude, to get
attention from Jude law, or not slept with him ... the story has to be
vague here because it is trying to show something not be factual.

They did a great job on this, and I wonder if more people see it if
it will get more popular ... I thought this was one of the best
movies I have seen in a long while - sorry I missed it in the
theater.
