They even used the actual Roosevelt Hotel

The Roosevelt Hotel in New Orelans was Huey Long's residence and political headquarters. The freeway he built between Baton Rouge and New Orleans ended right at the Roosevelt's auto entrance. You can also tell in the scene where Stark is walking in the lobby corridor. It has the longest lobby corridor than any hotel in the US if not the world. The corridor actually runs from one street to the next block. The hotel has been lovingly restored (after extensive Hurricane Katrina damage), and now managed by the Hilton's Walforf Astoria chain. It's nice to see the producers used it in filming.

By "freeway," I presume you refer to I-10, which was built in New Orleans in the mid-1960s with mainly federal funds. Huey Long built Airline Highway (not a freeway because a highway does not have limited access) between Jefferson Parish and Baton Rouge. Its terminus is nowhere near the Roosevelt Hotel in the heart of downtown New Orleans.

I'm so glad to hear your report that the Roosevelt's lobby has been restored post-Katrina. One relative worked for the Roosevelt and another out-of-town relative stayed there on business trips several times a year. I visited there many times as a child. It's heartwarming to hear that one part of my childhood hasn't been obliterated by Katrina like most of the others have.

By freeway the OP meant Airline Highway which runs from the capitol building to a block from the Roosevelt. I believe back in the day it ran the additional block to the Roosevelt.

Once Airline hits New Orleans the name changes to Tulane Avenue.
