...where they were singing happy birthday to the fellow customer and then Andy? It didn't seem to have any bearing on the plot, especially the singing of happy birthday.

That he's a completely normal human being who just hasn't stuck his dick in a vag, yet but could easily get it. I thought this was a great scene. It captured the character of Andy very well. He was definitely shy and reserved, but there was nothing wrong with him.
