When kathy was watching the interview with the little boy he said his mother opened the pillowcases and found 2 crowns, what did that mean?why did kathy stop it right there and called brad after?

The feathers of a pillow clumping together seems to be a death symbol for some cultures. I'd never heard of this before that scene in the movie

The boy said that his mother was looking for the crown. The crown was the impression in the feather pillow left by the impression of the head. He said that his father had two crowns. It gave the impression that he slept in two places...maybe cheated. That was probably what she was thinking since she already had just a little inkling that her husband might be up to something and that was why she stopped the film and immediately called her husband who wasn't home. If you recall, the night before when she called her mother, she told her that Brad had taken up playing football. The mother then told her to remember what happened when her father took up golf; suggesting that he used it as an excuse for going out and cheating on her.

Thanks for the response. So she thought it might be possible brad was having an affair at that point? When she invited sarah and her family over, was that just to meet them or was it premeditated to see if there was something going on between brad and sarah? B/c in one scene kathy is awake in bed and just thinking alot. Then she turns to brad and asks about lucy and sarah.

Not trying to chew you out like most do on these boards, but how can a boy that age know what cheating is about and that his father was probably out sleeping around with another woman? Unless the mother herself was a deadbeat who didn't mind telling her kid every little thing his father did wrong in their marriage.

You read more into my comment than intended. I was only suggesting that the child knew his father had slept in two places whatever that might infer. Maybe it was a totally innocent comment or his parents were separated/divorced or he might have overheard something said between his mother and father that caused him to say his father had two crowns. Any inference of cheating would have been made by her and was probably the reason she immediately called her husband.
