Good News( sort of) About New DVD Release

Ewan News has learned that the extended version to Long Way Round currently airing on SKY TV in the UK will be released on Region 2 DVD "later in the year" according to the official Long Way Round site.

There are bittersweet news for North American fans. While there are no plans to release the extended version in North America ( or outside Region 2 for that matter), the 7-part series that aired in the UK ( not the BRAVO version) will be released on DVD in the fall for Region 1.

It's time to invest in a Region-free DVD player to get around this ridiculous nonsense and stop being pawns.

I could not agree more. I am so sick and tired of hearing about quality shows and movies released overseas (I'm in the US) and never seeing them in our godforsaken Region 1 format. I'm getting a region-free player and thumbing my nose symbolically at the domestic movie studios who continue to play dumb and keep North Americans pining for DVD imports.

I used to just buy DVD players that were able to be hacked because I didnt want to give into the ploy of buying a "region free" dvd player cus I feel that they charged more for something I could hack myself..

anyway my hacked dvd player broke eventually (after 3 years) so I tried buying one that could be hacked again.. i couldnt find a single one!! I eventually gave in and bought a multi region dvd player and its sooooo nice..

i recommend this model for anyone who wants one!!

as long as they are releasing the extended version at ALL, im happy as a clam! we must fight the evil power that has created region-encoded dvds!

I just use my modded xbox, and that works fantastically for a region free dvd player.

I have a anew cyberhome DVD and hacked it easily. YOu mean the new ones can't be? Oh, no...
