Thanks for the reply, but i got the soundtrack, its not on there, it had one or two that i thought might have been it but nope, so still looking! lol

reply

It might be worth noting that the soundtrack featured on the TV series differs from the soundtrack featured on the DVD.

I noticed this at the end of episode one on the TV, which I'd watched after the entire series on DVD. I much prefer the DVD version.

Both of these statements refer to the UK DVD and the UK TV Series being shown currently on Sky Travel.

i also spent hours looking for the song. NOw i find someone here talking about it. So aytball76 have you figured out what the song is ? in one part of the song it says "a curious turn of events". hope that helps ...

reply

You can usually find songs by typing the lyrics into Google.com. It works 99% of the time. The only times it doesn't help is if the song has been done by lots of groups, and you're looking for one specific version.

reply

Yes, i tried google. but no luck. I asked about the song in some other forum. someone replied its "Solstice and is by Malbec -Produced by The Dirty Decibel Sisters and Published by Double-O Buffalo". But can not confirm it as i havent found song in any p2p.

reply

I found this link @ MALBEC Website for a 3 song CD at CD BABY that sights it's use in "Long Way Round" http://cdbaby.com/cd/malbec They have a good 2 min. sound bite

reply

Yeap its by Malbec allright

Does anyone know what song was being played when Ewan and Charley were riding into New York with those other bikers? It was something like a guitar rift...

reply

Don't know if you have got name of song yet, but when they arrive in New york the song is the following

Song:Pick a part thats new
Artist:Stereophonics
Album:performance and cocktails

"Don't seek the answer until you have found the problem."

reply

Not sure if this is the one but another stereophonics song used was "Rainbows & Pots Of Gold" this was used when charlie and Ewan's families show up in America i think

reply

thats correct koolen 2000 from the album:YOU GOTTA GO THERE TO COME BACK

"Don't seek the answer until you have found the problem."

reply

I've been trying to find this song too (when they are riding on the American choppers), but no luck yet.

The lyric is "Can't shake the feeling you're a passenger. Can't change the future in the back of car".

Someone said it might be "Precious Looks" by 50 Hertz, but I can't get a hold of this anywhere...

Anyone else had any luck?

reply

If you're still looking for this 50Hz song, send me a PM. The band was nice enough to send me a cd of all their songs that were used on Long Way Round, and gave me permission to share them.

The song that you are looking for is called "Up to Eleven" by Medicine Hat. It can be found on a cd called "The Pendell Guitar Project". Several other songs from this album are also featured during the show.

So what's the title song actually called?

---------------------------------
No no no!! Stop slashing things!!

reply

The title song is actually credited as "the long way round", performed by the Stereophonics. Unfortuneatly, it doesn't seem to be available....ANYWHERE!!! It's not on the series soundtrack or any of the Stereophonic's Albums to date. This Kills me because that is a dam'n catchy tune....
Please post a response If there is anyone who knows how to obtain the song...

reply

yeah that's what I thought, I was trying to download it (legally!) from Sonicstage and tried every permutation of Long Way Round Stereophonics I couls think of but to no avail!!
