I figured I might as well share this, after all the time I've put into it. Only some of the songs have been identified as to where they are in the show, but maybe you all can help me with that part. I have every song on this list except the one in italics. And I can legally share all the 50Hz stuff - I got it directly from the band, and they gave me permission to share with anyone and everyone. Send me a private message here on IMDB with your email address if there's something you're looking for.

Also just found out from Jim Simak (cameraman that traveled with the support crew) that Long Way Down goes into preproduction in January. Ewan and Charley will be riding from the northernmost tip of Scotland all the way down through Africa ending in Cape Town, South Africa.

Does anybody know the name of the track on the end credits of most of the episodes , the one with the hammond organ in it?

I think they used the theme song, didn't they? Long Way Round by Stereophonics

This is brilliant -- I've been looking for a list like this everywhere. But I know for sure that you're missing "Another White Dash" by Butterfly Boucher -- played in the 2nd episode (this is what started me hunting for the music in the first place).

I based my list on the songs actually shown in the end credits of each episode (of the 7 episode version), but I'm sure there are a lot of songs used that weren't listed in the end credits.

Off to search for this song now. Thanks again!

i think there are 2 episodes he's singing
once with the CoalMiner-MAfia-AK74 Guy and the song when they arrive in magadan!
does anyone know the names of them songs

The one song he sings at the "gun house" is U2's "Running To Stand Still" from The Joshua Tree. However, he only sings the first few lines:

"Step on a steamtrain, step out of the driving rain maybe,
Run from the darkness in the night"

The song in Magadan he sings after the local finished is O Flower of Scotland. Happens to be my national anthem and Ewans acoustic version was pretty good. Better than the usual bagpipes anyway.
