cool streets

Saw them shooting in oamaru over the last few days. Man, it looks cool. Customised cars alongside horses and extras dressed from WW1 to futuristic. The set looks like early century Europe but with bits of modern day stuff mashed in. Couldn't see the actors but someone said they were in the middle of the crowd scenes. This is looking classy for a kiwi scifi vamp flick.

I think some extras took photos (maybe with permission?) but there was a piece on the 6 o'clock news. Try www.tvnz.com for a link or the local paper www.odt.co.nz. They have started to cover the filming almost daily now. By the way, I saw Saffron cross the street from her trailer. She looks beautiful and was laughing and talking with the locals. Seems like a really nice person.

You can see Saffron in Troy or Deep Blue Sea most easily if you don't know what she looks like.

FYI it is *not* really a kiwi film, its being pay rolled for by Germans I think. Anyway, it's highly unlikely that it wouldn't be released in the US.

BrownSodaPop,

It's listed on IMDb as an international co-production between Germany and NZ (with the NZ film commission as one of the contributors to the budget), and as far as I can tell, the director is a kiwi. I guess it's debatable whether you can call this a 'kiwi film,' but it is largely being made by New Zealanders...

And I agree with you that the film will almost definately be released in the US. The cast is quite recognisable after all.

Just my two cents.
