Reminds me of 'The Breed'

Yes, it does remind me of The Breed...and yet the writer-director says in The Hollywood Reporter, "we wanted to make a vampire film like no one had seen before". I wonder if he's seen The Breed? Many people who make vampire movies don't appear to see that many existing vampire movies - maybe until they're already involved in the project? By then it may be too late to back out after the realization that the concept of the vampire movie has been done in a similar way before - or there's already financing so backing out isn't even an issue.

Even if they realize that there are similarities to a previous project, they may have to just do what they can w/ what they got....difficult to make a truly original vampire movie at this time in history...so many have been done...even half-assed ones contain original ideas that make it really hard for someone getting into this arena to clain true originality....I suppose we'll just have to see what happens in this case...

It is going to be awesome i worked on this and its the best film i have ever worked on. it was chilling, we worked in an closed down old mental institute where they did shock treatment etc. i have been working in film for 11 years and im busting at the seams to see the end result.

I was thinking that the summary reminded me of some movie I'd seen--and that's it, "The Breed". I had mixed feelings about that film. It was an intersting concept which didn't quite come off (for me) due to...low budget maybe, acting maybe, murky motivations? I'm not sure. It's been a while since I've seen it, it did keep me watching all the way through, but at the end it was just okay.
