how do they get away with ..

they tell their clients that the clones never hatch or recieve conciousness.
well how do they get away with the selling babies. they clearly say that they dont hatch them but the mother must hatch get pregnant for 9 months of conciousness then sold and killed..

In the case of birthing a baby, there would be no full agnate, just an artificial womb, to incubate a fetus created with the donor's DNA.

Umm, how about we have fun speculating instead of posting statements like that and shutting down discussions.

reply

exactly. it's fun to talk about movies and nitpick. This 'it's only a movie' crap is really getting old

Urm but this is what they actually do in the film. so you are that stupid.

reply

I don't remember any part of the movie saying they only cloned a uterus to carry a baby.

reply

They get away with it because the clients want to believe there is no moral problem with them getting what they want.

reply

the same with the insurance policy versions, they just don't tell the clients

for the clients buying a baby they are told the babies are born in test tubes (or bags, or whatever)

but since they have the facility to do full size, they just use full size clones as the test tube for 9 months since its more likely to create a healthy baby

reply

Their clients have to be incredibly stupid or without much emotions for that, most parents would like to know how their baby was made in over a span of 9 months, just a statement or imaginary excuse won't do.

reply

It's fiction, that's all we get as the explanation.

It's no stranger than being told that they are cloning just a single body part (as they do with the insurance versions)

If this was the real world you would have a point; but a large portion of this movies events happen simply because "its a movie"; unless you really think a corporation was going to be able to pull off mass murder for organ harvesting and not have even a single employee blow the whistle?

reply

I don't remember any part of the movie saying they cloned single body parts or organs.

I wondered that very same thing. McCord said the sponsors think their clones are kept unconscious in a vegetative state inside a jelly sack until they are needed. So does the pregnant clone's sponsor think that her clone carried her baby for 9 months while laying in a jelly sack in a vegetative state? It's one thing to believe a clone is kept unconscious until their organs are harvested, it's a whole other thing to believe a clone is kept unconscious while they're carrying a child for 9 months.
