And when the father, a gun loving nutcase, tracks him down he doesn't have a gun on him? AWFUL OK CORRAL ENDING spoiled what was a promising film until then.

shareIn a scene like this there would be a hole squad behind them once they got track of where they were hiding (the hills), and the next day, on the little town, there should be much, much more cops looking for him.
I guess the helicopter kind of served this purpose though, because it showed that the cops were actually looking for the kid, not only his dad and his partner.
