Harlan after he shot Tobe. I mean, he just whipped the gun out and shot her point blank because she disagreed with him. What a psycho. Then he left her there to die. Pass....what a tool. I kept laughing at the absurdity of the plot and felt sorry for the father, even though he was inept.
I would imagine that any person having any sort of sorrow for Harlan/Martin would have to be a "Butt-Buddy/Mental Case" as himself. Dark shades of "Taxi Driver" starring Robert De Niro. Excellent Indy Film and a great portrait of ill mental health. A great script, wonderful acting by ALL,...and beautifully photographed. The kind of movie all of us Actors would like to be in. Edward Norton never ceases to amaze me. Rock On!

Guns are made to shoot. The purpose why weapons are produced is killing people.
If Harlan was walking with guns, he was ready to use them and so he did.
If Wade had a collection of guns he was ready to have somebody killed, so it happened. If you keep cobras in your apartment or your garden, you are ready that they will bit somebody (including you).
I can't have sympathy for any of them. And especially not for Lonnie. He is a growing psychopath, probably becoming somebody very similar to Harlan. Alone, a sociopath, becoming obsessed with guns. What else could you expect? The best you can hope is that such a kid won't be in the same class with your kids when he takes guns to school and shoot a dozen peers or teachers.
