Filming Locations
Hello Folks! I'm a film student from East Coast studying the 3 crafts of location scouting, digital cinematography, and EPK videography. I'm currently shooting a student documentary TV series that is being considered as pilot material for a Spring 2013 monthly show. It's entitled "On Location". Basically, the footage follows my adventures in Los Angeles and Boston where I visit filming locations from feature films that were shot in those 2 cities. The audio is a combination of on-camera narration, voiceovers, live interviews with local residents and filmakers, and music score.
I'll be shooting in L.A. in April 2012, and visiting filming locations from several films including "Down in the Valley". I'm very familiar with The San Fernando Valley as I lived there briefly many years ago, and stay there whenever I visit L.A. I was wondering if any of you know the locations of these scenes from "Down in the Valley",,,,,
1) The gas station where Tobe & Harlan meet for the first time. It looks to me like it might be on Devonshire (Mission Hills area).
2) The thickly commercial street where Tobe & her friends are off to the beach. (N. Sepulveda maybe near Mission Hills/Pacoima area?)
3) Tobe's house
4) The footbridge where Tobe & her brother smoke and spit
5) The coffee/donut shop where Tobe & Harlan have their first disagreement/argument
6) The dirt trail in the hills where Tobe & Harlan are first seen riding the horse
7) The space below freeway overpass where Harlan & Tobe's brother have gun practice
8) The restaurant where Tobe, her brother, and Harlan have a hamburger
If any of you know exactly where any of these scenes were shot, your guidance would much much appreciated.
Thank you all very much. Hope to hear from some of you.
Michael
