Lucinda

Early in the picture, Clive Owen calls the number on the Avery-Harris web site to speak to Lucinda and Jennifer Aniston answers the phone. If Lucinda isn't the real Lucinda, how come she answers the phone listed on the site?

reply

You are right, I hadn't thought of that.

Because she was a temp

I wondered this myself.

As a temp one of her duties was answering the phone for the real Lucinda

I've decided to drop out of society and wear live animals as hats

As mmm_Dean has posted - she acts as her temp.

This is revealed when Clive Owen is going to see the policeman with his lawyer. Before he can do that he wants to warn Lucinda what is going to happen. The woman at the desk says Lucinda is out. Clive moves off and then as a black woman comes in the woman on the desk says Lucinda is in now.... Clive then says 'you saw me with her twice' - at which point he is told the woman he thought was Lucinda was her temp who has quit the job. I think they even mention that her name may be Jane.....

I was just about to answer that her real name isn't Lucinda and do we ever find out what it actually is?

Not sure why she'd actually need to work at all though, the cash from the stings meat they were rich with possibly several on the go at the same time. I know it was vital to the plot development of this story - his looking her up at her employer - but IMO she could have been just as believable if she'd simply played the rich but lonely and neglected housewife role.

Her real name is Jane something.

Ashmi any question

reply

she needs to work so the victim can go to the office and she will be there. I had thought they said Jade but others heard Jane

To answer the original question she is a temp standing in for the real Lucinda and answers her phone

I think readers should be warned of spoilers. Thanks.
