What an awful movie.

I can't believe Disney made this. It is hardly a children's movie. In fact, I can't imagine what audience it was intended for.

All I can think about is that poor dog that died on the chain, freezing and starving to death.

Since there was no body or even bones I visualize him being eaten by his fellow dogs.

I don't buy those crocodile tears their so called master shed after abandoning his dogs to die of starvation and exposure staked on a chain. Why did he even bother to come back.

In fact, why bother to make this movie at all.

There was a body.

I can vouch for the fact it was not (or SHOULD not) intended for 4.5 and 7 year olds. My kids absolutely flipped when the psycho seal came out of the whale. I had to turn it off until they went to bed.

As for me I didn't know what the movie was about, and I only started really paying attention when the guy fell in the water. Right after that they chained the dogs up and I was reeeeally very mad for the rest of the movie. I just can't believe someone would do that. Going back or not, putting dogs on short chains in the freezing cold?? Omg I'm mad again just thinking about it. I came to this board to make sure this wasn't based on truth.

It is a difficult movie to watch. But it captured has spirit and survival of sled dogs left on their own. The bonded together and survived, a lesson that can be taught to us humans. The real story is just a heartbreaking.

Do you know what PG means?

You poor fool -- you watched a two-hour movie and got NONE of it…...

Either that, or they thought it was a documentary and that Old Jack *actually* died....Yeesh.

There will always be this one person that doesn't get the movie and complain.

In the original movie and the real story it's 7 or 8 dogs which died on the chain and only 2 dogs survived. The dogs were chained because another team was supposed to come at the camp but it never happened.
