How is this show doing in ratings right now? Do I need to promote it?

I have been keeping up to date on the present season of American Dad on TBS and have just been so impressed by all the episodes thus far. TBS has been on a role between last season and this season. Now I always like to promote my shows around social media and the Internet like crazy if I think they are doing well and I want to see more seasons just to keep it so that they aren't in danger of getting canceled.

So can someone tell me the ratings the show has been getting on TBS this season and if it's necessary that I need to do any promoting of the program? If the ratings are doing good, thankfully I don't have to do any promoting? However, if the ratings are struggling I want to promote it. Too many great shows fall by the wayside that fans love because those fans won't get off their lazy butts and promote. I remember shortly before American Dad's cancellation on Fox that I was promoting the hell out of this show, so I like to think I had some part in saving it.

So do I need to promote this show based upon this season's ratings or not?

American Dad's ratings this season have been very solid (for TBS) and steady. It's already renewed for another 22 episode season after this season too. But it never hurts to get the word out there ;)

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! What stellar news. Thanks Mgiorgi94. Ok thanks for the sigh of relief. I can't rest easy. And keep up doing my own thing while American Dad holds it down. YAY!!!

They've been good for TBS, but the show does not get near the exposure that it did when it was on FOX.

I'm glad that TBS has kept it going, and they seem to have found a bit more of their niche (obviously we'll never quite have the golden days) but overall they've made some pretty solid eps. Much better than when Futurama moved to Comedy Central.

However, the board activity is way way down and we've lost some great posters. I don't think Red's been around since the summer, and usually she comments on all of the shows (Family Guy, American Dad!, South Park, Simpsons).

Here are the ratings if you'd like to keep track of them http://tvseriesfinale.com/tv-show/american-dad-season-12-ratings.
Although I have to throw out that it wasn't cancelled on FOX, at least not publicly. In their press releases in 2013, they avoided saying it was cancelled instead using the words 'moving to TBS'. Sorry but it's a very safe thing to say , the deal to move the show to TBS was done completely independent of whatever 'promoting' you did.

Uhhhh yea and that's the exact position I spent two years arguing for over at Wikipedia before I just dropped the matter to the unrelentingly obnoxious hellhounds on that website. As I recall, you were not on my side in that argument either. I was the one trying to argue that it moved and that it wasn't cancelled. Ever position I took on this show was wrestling match on that website. I looked to you for help one time and you sort of had this neutral view deviating from mine and everyone else's.

At the time I entered the Wikipedia conversation, it was about the three episodes that aired in September 2014 & whether they should be their own season or should be incorporated into TBS' first season when it premiered in October.
At the time, I said they should be included into TBS' run as there was no [that I saw] indication of a FOX '14 season finale and a three episode season was absurd, or whatever word I used.
It had nothing to do with whether the show was cancelled or not. I say 'moved' in my comments & said the same thing on this board as well, so evidently we agree that it moved & was not cancelled.

Oh my apologies Kyle. I don't had so many arguments with those quarrelsome folks at that website before I finally just left that it became all one big blur. LOL! But yea, what you say sounds correct. Your memory is sharper than mine. How do you feel about this new season and the TBS episodes as compared to the Fox episodes? Are you impressed? Is there anything you would change? What are your feelings and thoughts about this season and TBS over all as compared to Fox? I ask because it's been awhile since we've spoke. I've been enjoying this new season. It's very reassuring the new writers they hired finally got the hang of the characters after that disappointing first TBS season.
I do wish though they'd stop with the 'edgier' twist. Just because they can include one or two uncensored curse words in episodes doesn't mean they should.

Looks like the fans of this show are all on the same page as you have completely spoken my mind. Couldn't have said it better myself. Thought that first season was a hot mess, but like you said, the new writers got the hang of the characters and really found their footing. I have been blown away by TBS outside of that first season. Also like you expressed, the "edgier" "ballsier" crap was pure as they say in the legal system hype and advertisement to get us to watch the show on TBS. There has been nothing edgier or ballsier and using four letter words is hardly anything worth that label.
