Any other uncommon horror movies like this?
With uncommon stories/twists/plots/ambientations? I'm pretty tired of common-place american horror/mystery/thrillers, this was a great breath of fresh air for me.

shareI agree. Great twist. The Others (as already mentioned) is way better than The Skeleton Key. The Skeleton Key gets you thinking of ghosts & spirits right off the bat (location didn't hurt); whereas in The Others, use of shadows, camera angles, spooky noises (a la Hitchcock) give you the heebie jeebies! Best of all horror movie twists inarguably is The Sixth Sense. Already seen it? Watch it again knowing the answers... Different kind of chilling!
shareMight also want to watch Burnt Offerings with Karen Black & a young Burgess Meredith (though I'm sure like Don Knotts, they were born looking that way!)
It's an older movie, but I loved the twists 20years ago & I love the twists now! Dated, but the score sets the tone masterfully.
Dude! You've got my head reeling now...
"Identity" with John Cusack; very unusual role for him, but it's Cusack! The guy could sell shoes to a snake! "Frailty" with Bill Paxton. Not plot twist, per se, but definitely thought- provoking!
I highly recommend "FALLEN" with Denzel Washington and John Goodman. It's not bloody or gory, but a steady uphill trek to the climax. Good psych-thriller, and the ending is the best I've seen for this type of film! Creeped me out big-time!

Great choice.
shareif you liked The Skeleton Key, a quite similar movie is Mephisto Waltz (1971).
