Why was Wade unable to move after being waxed?

Why was Wade unable to move when the other guy found him? I'm referring to the scene where his friend found him upstairs in a chair. He was still alive as his eyes were moving. What are we suppose to assume had him incapacitated?

reply

The wax was so thick on him he wouldnt be able to move. He would have been sedated for a period long enough to a point he would eventually die from things like dehydration and starvation.

reply

Cuz they wrote that.

reply

The villain gave him a paralyzing shot.
