Could Wade have survived?

This may seem like a stupid question but hypothetically if the cops had been called earlier on and Wade was still alive in the wax when the ambulance arrived could he have survived? I guess what I'm asking is, in that situation, what would the doctors have done? I don't know how you can turn wax back into skin. Would they have been able to help him in any way?

reply

If he can open his mouth without tearing off skin he could live on in the most improbable scenario as a vegetable patient sucking in food through a tube otherwise hes still dead. Nothing you can do about wax fused together with skin, if they take it off its the same as flaying and he dies from shock, infection, blood loss, or hypothermia.

If Ari Gold saw Chappie he would say:
"Chappie makes Elysium look like Citizen ƒvcking Kane"

Wade didn't have his skin removed before he was covered in wax by Vincent. While Dalton was trying to 'get him out' of that wax the skin was really sticked to the wax that's why we could see the flesh.

To answer your question, I'm not really sure since I'm quite bad with biology/medicine but they would probably have to try to remove the wax somehow (by melting it?) but then again I don't think Wade would have survived that since the wax wouldn't just melt off without hurting him.

reply

Very probably not - although wax alone wouldnt stick like that, he would need melted plastic or napalm to fuse it to the skin the way it did. But think thee shock would have triggered a massive heart attack

'is it loaded?' 'Of course not' 'BANG!!!"

reply

Yeah the skin was still there, though probably horrible burned. People have been able to clean up animals that have gotten stuck in tar (though it takes a while) and such so I imagine it's possible that they could have helped him as long as they were careful.

The fact that, in the movie, some people would still be alive under their wax peel is there for the frightening effect, but it seems to me completely zany.
How could people survive a shower of several layers of 100°C molten wax (not counting the knife stabs they take) ?
Still, this is a very sinister and excellent movie.

reply

I am pretty sure the wounds from the scissors would of finished him off.

reply

Not necessarily.. We could see that Vincent took great care of Wade after he wounded him with scissors. Even though we saw only him getting stitched up, I'm pretty sure Vincent did more than that with the wound.

Not sure, I just hope he died when that part of his jaw was knocked off. If he went unconscious, woke up, and later burned to death at the end, that's just extra sad.
