If there were bodies under the wax...
How well would the wax have sealed them or preserved them? Would you be able to tell by smell the bodies were there? Plus as bodies decay all sorts of unpleasant stuff happens.
shareWax is a really good sealant. My junior year of college I dipped a grape in wax during a Halloween party, and it was still perfectly preserved when I graduated a year and a half later.
